Diamonds in the Rough Draft

In Episode 15 of Diamonds in the Rough Draft, Eric and Emily are joined by Eric's mother, Susan Anderson, and mysterious brother, Brother (also known as J.M. Anderson). They drink more beer from Resting Pulse Brewing Co in Opelika, including, but not limited to, Peach Bellini IPA, and discuss Emily's tale of the Selkie. Eric calls dibs on the coffee shop name: "Java's Palace," and Emily recounts the tale of someone hiding in the bathroom during her wedding. 

Emily and Eric undertake a divisive reading of Eric's children's story/poem, "Princess Ada and Poor Fredrick," while drinking Sweet Magnolia Mango Golden Ale by Liquid Nation Brewing Company of Gainesville, GA. Conversations include their favorite children's books and an investigation into the purpose of liquids. 

Emily and Eric drink Dirty Beaches from Scoffllaaaw....Scoflaw..Sclofflaw Brewing company in Atlanta, GA and read Emily's rough draft of her short story "Recess." Banter includes multiple reference to flamingos and other aquatic fauna, begging the question: What color would you be, if you turned the color of the food you ate most frequently?

Eric and Emily return to the internet after a mysterious hiatus in a blazing return to three of their previous pieces. After reworking, rewriting, and revising, they are ready to read new versions of these to show what a poem or story can turn into after sufficient banter and a pint. 

In Episode 11, Emily and Eric drink Down South Helles Lager by Burnt Hickory Brewery, and welcome special guest Nicole Sciortino Craig to read her mysterious untitled story, written some time in the relatively not-so-distant past. The special guest survives the entire episode!

In episode 10, Emily and Eric drink Long Day Lager from Red Hare Brewing in Marietta, GA. They discuss parody and some satire, a lot of Robin Hood, and then read Emily's poem, Benjamin Bunny. 

In Episode 9, Emily and Eric welcome special guest author and co-host of the Pop Medieval Podcast: Nina MacNamara! Together, they discuss female agency in the tales of Helen/Paris and Hades/Persephone, then read and discuss Nina's poem, "Fecundity." The group enjoys drinking Owlet from Horned Owl Brewing Company in Kennesaw, GA and, overall, have a wonderful time. Emily loses a shoe, but discovers brownies. 

In the third episode of season two, Emily and Eric drink Atalanta sour saison by Orpheus Brewing while discussing Eric's poem "Tempest," and getting off on several tangents about Greek mythology...again. Also, it's totally a bear, not a dog.
